I Don’t Celebrate Palm Sunday.

In most Orthodox and some Pentecostal churches around the globe, “Palm Sunday” is celebrated today. This is a day chosen to celebrate Jesus’ kingly entry into Jerusalem barely a week before he was crucified. It is recorded that people laid down falm fronds and their clothes on the ground for him to ride in on the donkey. So, Happy Palm Sunday celebration!! I hope you had fun at church. *smiles.

Personally, I’m not one to attach much significance to specific days as all days are the same to me. I celebrate the coming, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus everyday. Lol. Don’t judge.

Rom 14:4

4 Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

    Rom 14:5-6

5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. KJV
No. I’m not gonna be talking about Palm Sunday. Instead, briefly, I’m going to be talking about the text above.

Just like how some of you frowned when I admitted to adding no special significance to today, we all at some point must have frowned at people’s reservations, decisions and celebrations.

In the beginning of that chapter, Paul spoke about receiving people who are “weak in faith” and in this context, he was referring to people who have reservations about eating some kind of food or esteeming specific days over the other.

    Rom 14:1-3

14 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

I like the concluding sentence “for God has received him”.

Honestly, as believers, I know nothing is unclean of itself and we are not bound to keep days or be restricted from certain types of food.

Rom 14:14

14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

1 Cor 10:23-24

23 All things are lawful, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful, but not all things edify. 2
As true as that is, there are some people who have decided not to walk in that reality and a greater truth is, God has accepted them. Their choice of food or days wouldn’t change that. So even though I am fully persuaded that no day is special or above another, it would be unwise of me to judge people who aren’t persuaded in that manner. At the end of the day, all days belong to God and whether I regard one over another or I don’t, everything is to the lord.

Rom 14:6

6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
In the part of the world I live in, some believers believe ladies shouldn’t wear jewelry or trousers. I’m fully persuaded there’s nothing wrong with it but I don’t go around trying to judge their being weak in faith or start dispensing revs and rhems. We are all at different levels in faith. The most I’d do is to teach the word, try to explain that all things are lawful and can be done except when countering the edifying process and let them be. We do all to the glory of God, it doesn’t change our ‘believer’ status to ‘unbeliever’. God has accepted us all in Christ. There are lost sheep you could be using that energy to minister to, rather than expending it on things that might cause conflicts in the church.
So if you’re a new creation frenzy believer reading this, remember, we walk in love towards the family in Christ. Love covers all. Be slow to speak or judge. Be accommodating. Teach and correct in love, do not be puffed up with knowledge and be sarcastically prideful and foolish about it. Be wise.

There are some places or people I converse with that I could correct a thing or two of their beliefs through the word but I’d rather just keep quiet as long as it isn’t affecting the fundamentals of the Christian faith –Righteousness in Christ.

If my speaking or correcting would cause more harm than good to their minds, especially when I’m not around to follow up, I reserve my comments. That simple.

Have a lovely Sunday ahead!

Don’t forget to like, comment, and share with friends.

Happy Palm Sunday

In celebration of the International Women’s day, I decided to share a list of three women who I really respect and have been like role models to me. These women  have been powerful forces internationally in the Christian Faith keep pushing me to want to be better at what I do and minister to people around me. In no particular order, here they are! I hope you love them as much as I do.

This year, I actually promise to be more consistent with my posts- it’s my new year’s resolution. (Now every time I use that word, I can’t help but laugh because last year I heard about a girl whose name is Resolution, I kid you not! lol) so back to the consistency of my posts, I actually made plans and would try to follow through with them. So be ready for some AMAAAZIING POSTS this year.

Earlier today, after my lectures in school, I was walking down with a couple of friends when we passed by a group of women talking; A lecturer, I assume, and three students. The three students were Muslims

Good evening peeps!!!!

As believers, I’m sure we must have heard about the story of the infamous twins in the bible; Jacob and Esau and how one of them was a thief and the other’s worth was a meal of bread and pottage. Growing up, I always wondered what effect the sold birthright had on Esau that was so bad that he could never recover from it. Recently, I was just going through the story of Israel from His grandfather Abraham and I noticed something; Continue reading “GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC AND BIRTHRIGHT”

Invincibly Visible

Go to the top of a cliff

Pick up a stone, outstretched arms

Release the stone.

Without permission from you,

The stone heads towards the ground

A greater force permits it.
Oh ye wise!

Look at the force,

What color is it? Red or blue?

How tall is it? 14ft or 4″

Oh, you can’t see it? Nor describe it?

But you know it exists.
Gravity exists but you don’t see it

Yet you believe it

You don’t see God physically

So you don’t believe He is

You’re wise in your eyes

Foolish in your thoughts
The stone didn’t need your permission

To obey the law of gravity

So is your opinion useless

To prove the God almighty

There’s a greater force to reckon with

We obey the law of the Spirit

We welcome you to Spouses!!!… Sorry, Service..

Hey peeps, it’s amazing how this is the third time I’m posting something today.. lol..
I decided to view my blog as my amebo (gossip) partner… So I’m in the car, on my way to church right now and i just heard a program invitation played on radio… After the program was introduced and invitations given, the next thing I heard was “come and you stand an opportunity of meeting your prospective spouses…”.. Uuhhm what??? Seriously??

I refuse to believe that the church in my part of the world would choose meeting prospective spouses over a believers meeting to share the word. It’s unfortunate that meeting a spouse in a believers meeting has to be used as a tool to lure believers to come to church. I don’t know what vexes me more;
The fact that believers in my side of the world are so marriage pressured that it would actuality work as a tool to get them to do almost anything, or
The fact that church organizations chose to take advantage of the pressure to lure ignorant believers to their meetings..
This is quite amusing but not really funny.. Most times I wonder how this particular generation of believers are going to cope when real issues of life besides marriage sets in.. After they get their spouses, does that mean they would no longer attend believers meetings? I wonder.
