Holla holla!!! How did our day go? First off, I’d like to appreciate everyone who started this DailyPearls journey with me, those who joined somewhere along the line, and to my first time readers… thanks for your love and support, it’s been amazing all the way. I got a lot of calls and text messages from close friends who gave testimonies of been blessed by the series and we give all Glory back to God. I’m pretty excited tonight and I wish ya’ll could see this really big smile on my face… thank you all, really.
Okay! About a week ago, we started a series tagged SALVATION and we’ve talked about .Today we are going to be rounding off with the topic titled ‘YOU’RE A SON, SO WHAT?’. If you’ve been following the series you’d understand that because of what Jesus did on the cross, you are forgiven, redeemed, justified, and righteous in Him. You also understand that we receive these gifts by faith. So when you believe and confess, what happens? The moment you believe, the Holy Spirit comes into your spirit, sanctifies you, and your spirit is made alive.
2 Thess 2:13
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:KJV
1 Peter 1:2
2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.KJV
13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession — to the praise of his glory. NIV
The Holy Spirit seals your spirit. He is the evidence of your faith. Proof that you are a partaker of the gifts that come with what Christ did on the Cross. The Holy Spirit is one of the persons of the trinity, He’s God and because He’s in our spirit, interwound with ours, we’re one Spirit with God. We now have His nature in us just as Jesus does and so we have now become His sons and joint heirs with Christ through faith.
1 John 5:1-2
5 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. NIV
5 he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— NIV
12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. NIV
The ultimate reality of our salvation is that we now abide in God and He in us, we are His children. In him we live, move and have our being. We now have fellowship with the Him and are righteous in Him.
15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs — heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. NIV
Finally to where I’m going to…now that we are sons, what next? Now that we have been forgiven and made righteous, what next? Are we supposed to just live anyhow and wait to die and go to heaven? If heaven was the final goal of our salvation, don’t you think God would have just taken us immediately we got saved? Remember what we started this series with? Talked about life in Eden before the fall and the process that was going on. You can read it up SALVATION: LIFE IN EDEN.if you’ve not read it before. As believers, we are going back to that process and doing it right. We are to learn from the Spirit of God within us and be transformed in our souls into the Glory of God, the person of Christ here on earth. Let me break it down; when God created Adam, His source was totally from God, and He was being transformed into His glory. This process was disrupted when man fell. Now that we have been saved from that fall, that process has to continue. We now go back to that initial plan where we behold God’s Glory( who is inside our spirit now) and be transformed into that same glory.
2 Cor 3:18
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.KJV
I have a post on the Glory of God THE GLORY OF GOD: CHRISTOCENTRIC here, you can read it. It is actually the person of Jesus. If our spirit is already one with God, then what part of us exactly is been transformed? Our soul. And that’s what was recorded here
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. KJV
Our mind is a component of our soul which is being transformed by beholding God’s glory in our spirit into that same glory i.e the person of Jesus. Remember the theory of the soul learning from the Spirit and executing in the flesh? It comes to play here. The blog posts on that are here and here.
Basically, my point is this; salvation is the means to an end. The end is that we all become like Christ even here on earth.
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:KJV
The goal is to grow up into Him; Jesus Christ. That’s where the place of killing the desires of the flesh and sin, renewing of your soul comes in, so that we won’t just be perfect in the spirit. But also in our souls and bodies. The beautiful aspect about this is, along with the package of salvation comes grace in abundance; grace to do this. We must also note that this process is from the inside out. There has to be a place of us yielding to the spirit within us so He can renew every aspect of our soul. God started the work, He will finish it. Our role is to yield to Him and learn from Him. this is the working out of our salvation that Paul records here
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.KJV
Note that you are not working for your salvation but instead working it out. Expressing it from inside out. See Paul also told us that even the working out would be done by God, His grace is sufficient. He who has started the good work will also finish it. You just play your part, learn from Him and be submissive to Him.
So as believers, we should know that we are not just saved to remain the way we are and wallow in sin but we have an end in view; to be Christs on earth. The grace given to us shouldn’t be taken for granted; Someone’s life had to be sacrificed for that. Let Him finish what He started in you.
1 Thess 5:23-24
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.KJV
Father, thank You for the gift of salvation You have given to us because of the great love you have for us, thank you because we have received it by faith and thank You because we know You are bringing us to that expected end that we be just like You. Help us to walk in the reality of this. Amen.
So we’ve officially come to the end of the series Salvation. Trust me, there’s still a whole lot more about this topic that I’ve not talked about. It’s simply inexhaustible. Don’t forget to study more, pray just as much and bask in God’s glory. This is also the last post in the DailyPearls series and I miss it already. I got questions from people asking if I was never going to post teaching here anymore.. lol. Nahh. I would; it wouldn’t just be daily. And I’d also be posting other things I write, my book and series I had to put on hold because of this. But there would still be teachings as led. Put me in your prayers please…I’m starting exams soon. See you on my next post.
As usual, don’t forget to subscribe via mail, like, share and tell me what you think in the comment boxes below. Have a lovely night rest if you are reading this tonight, and a beautiful morning ahead if you read this in the morning. Know you are greatly loved.
